I found this story on the BBC website and thought it really interesting! I am pretty sure there are plenty of words out there that are regional which won't have any meaning to anyone who doesn't live there... (Anyone remember MMT's intense Scouse??
). I find it all fascinating

coming from the north and living down south I get loads of weird looks when I say things even after 3 years...
"put the snip on that door"
" you know press the wotsit jobby thing"
pants down here means undies which leads to very strange looks!
